The following is the full list of the important fasting and festival days of Shravan Maas of 2025:

1. July 14, 2025 – First Monday of Shravan (Somvar Vrat)

The first Monday of the month is a kind of trend-setter. People will get up early in the morning, bath, wear clean clothes and go to Lord Shiva temples with offerings such as milk, belpatra, and flowers.

The Shiv Chalisa is read collectively in many families in the morning, and they finish daily at home by doing aarti. Our home is used to making sabudana khichdi and sharing it among the neighbors.

1. July 21, 2025 – Second Monday of Shravan (Somvar Vrat)

By the second Monday the devotion becomes deeper. More queues and longer chants are witnessed in temples. It also occurs in some of the devotees who present coconut and sugar in the Shivling.

My aunt in Ujjain has been performing Shravan Vrats throughout last 15 years and she goes to Mahakal temple barefooted every Monday. She considers that her faith got her through a serious condition.

2. July 28, 2025 – Third Monday of Shravan (Somvar Vrat)

This Monday can be said to be the turning point. Believers tend to offer prayers and blessings to others. Giving money to the poor and giving food to cows is normal.

3rd Somvar: It is said that the third Somvar is where Lord Shiva begins showering you with answers. True or not, something peaceful always changes inside by this time.

3. July 29, 2025 – Nag Panchami

A day of snake worshiping- they are divine creatures that bear relationship to the ornament of Lord Shiva called Vasuki. Nag Devta prayers are done to safeguard that one is not attacked by invisible spirits or doshas to harm the family and children.

Spiritual: Such individuals suffering Rahu-Ketu dosh or problems in a birth chart offer special poojas or feed milk at ant hills or image of snakes.

4. August 4, 2025 – Fourth & Final Monday (Somvar Vrat)

The final Monday also has strong emotional and spiritual highlight. Devotees do everything that they can, some devotees walk kilometers to reach a particular temple some people do Nirjala fast (i.e. go without water) and some people are silent all through the day.
